Frequently Asked Questions about SLEC Recurring Giving Programme

What is the SLEC Recurring Giving Programme?

SLEC is embarking on a journey to give our donors the option to support us through gifts every month. Receiving monthly contributions from our donors provide us a steady flow of income that allows us to plan and focus on providing quality care to our elders.

How will joining the SLEC Recurring Giving Programme make a difference?

For $10 a month for a year, a frail and home-bound elder can receive home medical services.
For $50 a month for a year, an elder with dementia can attend dementia day care to slow down the deterioration and stimulate cognitive abilities.
For $100 a month for a year, 4 elders are able to utilise the wheelchair-accessible transportation to get to our centres.

What are the benefits of joining the SLEC Recurring Giving Programme?

Plan and Track your monthly budget with ease Decide the amount you choose to donate and it will automatically be deducted on the 5th of every month. You can also adjust your donation amount anytime.

Convenient and Secure
Do away with the extra effort of issuing a cheque many times a year.

Pocket Friendly
Your gift is spread consistently throughout the year instead of being one lump sum. For example, it is more manageable to donate $50 a month than $600 at one go.

Eco Friendly
As we will be providing you with a statement of contribution every January, we can significantly decrease the volume of paper and postage costs.

Are my donations tax-deductible?

All donations to St Luke’s ElderCare Ltd are eligible for a 250% tax deduction for the year. Please submit your NRIC/FIN or UEN number in order to be auto-included in the tax assessment.

Will I receive a record of my donations?

We will be providing you with a statement of contribution every January to indicate the amount donated in the previous calendar year.

How do I change the amount I donate or leave the programme?

For any changes and cancellation to the Recurring Giving Programme, please email: donorcare@slec.org.sg

What are the payment methods for the SLEC Recurring Giving Programme?

You can contribute to SLEC via GIRO or Credit Card.

For Credit Card, once we receive your application form, we will process your deduction on 5th of every month.

For GIRO, it will take approximately 1-2 months for the bank to process the application. Once your GIRO application is approved, deductions will be made on the 5th of every month.

What happens if my application/donation deduction is rejected?

Credit Card Applications/Donation Deductions
Please ensure sufficient credit limit. If the deduction of your donation did not go through on the 5th of the month, we will try a second time on the 20th of the month. Following which, a letter will be sent to your mailing address to inform you of the rejected donation deduction. A third try will be done on the 5th of the following month. Upon failure of deduction of the donation amount from the third try, we regretfully inform that you will be removed from the Recurring Giving Programme.

Should there be a change in credit card number, expiry date, please send an email to donorcare@slec.org.sg with the change of details.
