Course Overview
This course is designed to provide the learner the basic understanding of fractures and the acute fracture management of clients. Rehabilitation of common fractures in the ILTC sector will be reviewed and mobility of clients with fracture with mobility aids will be emphasised. At the end of the course, participants will be able to competently ambulate clients with fracture and apply safe and proper procedures in walking aid education to clients and walking aid application to clients.
Course Objectives
At the end of the course, the learner is able to:
- What is a fracture, the different types of fracture
- Care of client with fractures- general surgical management.
- The various types of walking aid
- Understand the needs of good biomechanics for client and self
- Apply the organization policies and procedures in safety of walking aid
- Psychomotor (P)
- Maintain, use and teach walking aids

Mr Atienza Sedfrey Del Moro (Tom)
Senior Physiotherapist & Senior Trainer, St Luke’s ElderCare
Mr Tom Sedfrey graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Physical Therapy (Philippines) in 2005. He has more than 10 years of working experiences as a practicing physiotherapist in ILTC sector in Singapore. His areas of interest include neurorehabilitation (Stroke & PD) and geriatric rehabilitation.
The full course is $261.60 (including prevailing GST). Prevailing course fee subsidy at 90% for Singapore Citizens/Permanent Residents and 45% for work pass holders working in eligible community care organisations.
