Residential-based Services

Our St Luke’s ElderCare Residence @ Ang Mo Kio.

We run two residences (nursing homes) – in Ang Mo Kio and Punggol – which provide long-term care for those who cannot be cared for at home or in their community. This includes providing assistance to those who need help in most of their activities of daily living (ADL) and/or have daily nursing care needs.

Overall services include:

  • Help with ADL include going to the toilet, showering and eating
  • Physical and social activities such as maintenance exercises and outings
  • Nursing care including management of nasogastric tube, urine catheter, wound dressing etc.
  • Dementia care

A HOME AWAY FROM HOME

In our residences, we aim for our elders to have a “home away from home” experience. This centres around empowering our elders to make their own choices according to their interests and lifestyle. Our unique care approach goes above and beyond the basic nursing home concept.

Examples of our care approach:

  1. To empower our elders, every household has kitchen appliances to enable elders to prepare their own tea breaks and snacks.
  2. To ease the transition from home, our elders are encouraged to wear their home clothes and in-house laundry services are provided.
  3. To provide a personalised and comfortable space, our accommodations are modelled after household settings, with customised wardrobes and wooden-framed nursing beds.
  4. To foster familiarity, the dining experience includes home-cooked and local hawker cuisines, with elders enjoying an enhanced presentation of blended food.
  5. To engage our elders, a variety of health and social programmes are available for them to enjoy and participate in.
